17th Century Reproduction Carved Oak Desk Box

This desk box was built in 2018 and Jim carved using some red oak that was split from a log. He carved it using chisels and a mallet.  It features hinges and forged nails made by blacksmith Peter Ross of North Carolina.  The casework is assembled with wooden pegs and the bottom and cleats on the lid were put together with forged nails that were clinched.  The drawer pulls were made with solid brass rings.  Pictures by Axtman Photography of Devils Lake, ND.
