This Mallard Ale Bowl struck a wonderful balance between realism and innovation in the carving design, while honoring the tradition of crafting Norwegian Ale Bowls.  It was completed through apprenticeship grant funding by the North Dakota Council on the Arts.  It is made of basswood, has an original acanthus design, and was painted with acrylic paints and sealed with multiple coats of protective finish. The dimensions are 7" height, 6 1/2" width, and 14" length.
